How we cover Warranty Claims here at John's Bikes

When things go wrong with your bike, it's always a pain and often not so easy to fix as you might think. Therefore we have put together a clear guide to cover how it will work for customers, whether or not you purchased your bike from us here at John's Bikes.

General
Warranties only apply for genuine instances of malfunction. Sorry, but being too speedy or crashing your bike doesn't count and we can't and won't pretend to a manufacturer that damage should be fixed under warranty when in our opinion there is not a genuine claim, though some manufacturers do offer a crash replacement policy whereby you will be offered a discount on a new frame if the damage was your fault (please check their website(s) for details).  Please bring proof with you of the date of purchase of your bike so we can check the validity of the warranty claim.

Procedure

  1. Bring in your bike, any damaged parts and proof of date of purchase to our Repair Shop
  2. Tell us what happened
  3. We'll speak to the bike manufacturer or parts supplier
  4. Usually they'll want us to return the parts for inspection -so we need to send them off and wait to hear from them...Generally this takes a couple of days once parts received.
  5. If it's an overseas manufacturer, e.g. US or Germany, then this part of the process alone can take 2-3 weeks as ‘standard'.  P&P in this case too can be expensive
  6. The manufacturer/parts supplier will generally send parts to us and once we have them, we can fit them for you.

Costs
A.
If you purchased the bike you're claiming the warranty work for from John's Bikes
