Following the succes of last years Demo Program, we are happy to announce that this years Demo models have started to arrive!
First in to the stable is greatly anticipated Trek Slash 8. Mark, who will be taking this marvel through its paces this year, has this to say about his first impressions... "I was very giddy when this chap turned up as it could tick a lot of boxes for me and similar riders looking for one bike which will cover all duties. First trip out was down to an old DH track just west of Westbury, its short and sharp with mixed terrain from loam to roots to treacherous clay. Even without slackening the head angle via the handy 'Mino' link the Slash managed the steep course with ease. The second saw me go out on my usual 31km loop using the cotswold way. I was with James on his Demo 29er Superfly 100, of course he munched up the climbs quicker than myself but I wasn't far behind and didn't feel as though I was struggling or fatigued by having the 'bigger bike'. The Slash is a wonder bike but really is suited to big mountain or DH Enduros as it was designed for but if you, like me love all types of riding and were only able to have one bike...Then this is the one.
Check out this promotion launch video from Trek...
We also have two 29ers in the stable in the form of a Superfly 100 and a X-Caliber both in 19.5inch. James will be giving you a full review soon but until then read up on the Superfly courtesy BikeRadar...

Now, with the recent spate effecting Bath and the on-going plague in Bristol of bike theft; we would like you to take five minutes out of your day to read a few articles and watch a video or two from the national media and leading industry voices. Some of us here have being the victims of bike theft and know how gutting it is to have you ride stolen. Thank you to the Guardian, Avon &Somerset Police and Doddy &the guys at Bike Radar for the following pieces.
Our lock tests are conducted by the safe-cracking team at Cycling Plus magazine. For every new locks test they consult the police to find out what the latest tools being used by thieves are – and if they aren’t using these already, they introduce them. Here's what they have to say about their crude but brutally effective test techniques... Read More...

This just in from www.thisisbath.co.uk about Longleat Estate management deciding to ban cycling through the estate using agreed rights of way, licensed to Sustrans. I wonder could this effect the fabulous Black Canon Collective Cycling Club which has its home at Longleat as much as it will effect locals who use the two blue routes for leisure and commuting and maybe beyond to effecting Cycling Tourism in and around the area? There is a Charity Sportive to be held for the second year in a row later this year called the 'Lionheart' which Trek and Endura are sponsoring, could there be implications for events like these in the future?

Well, we have always known the Madone 3.5 is one of the best entry level carbon bikes on the market, in fact this review makes me think putting 'entry level' before describing it is derogatory... See what the guys at Bike Radar have to say here...

Another one of our favourites has being showered with accolades this year! The R838 would you believe is the 'entry level' carbon bike from De Rosa but punches well above its weight and price point. Check out the two reviews below.

Here's Mark, one of our regulars picking up his Trek Rumblefish which has being pimped out with some tastey Easton, Thompson and Ergon upgrades!
It has come as a relief to Mark as was knocked off his bike in March by an articulated lorry, luckily he came away unhurt but shocked but his pride and joy was completely flattened!
He has taken his time choosing his new steed and the finishing kit and we are really glad to see him back on a bike!
